Wewayangan
On Thursday, October 27, 2022, Hotel Royal Brongto and Jawir Communal Space in collaboration with the Yogyakarta City Cultural Office held a wayang performance event with the theme "Wewayangan: Lakon Wirathaparwa". Agus Hadi Sugito was lined up to be the mastermind and accompanied by Sanggar Klampis Ireng Waras.
Raden Mas Sinarbiyat Nujanat S.E. opened the event with a speech in which he was very supportive of the implementation of this event so that the heritage of our ancestors remains sustainable during the massive rise of foreign culture. The hope is that more and more similar events will be held in Indonesia, especially in the Special Region of Yogyakarta.
In this play, the mastermind brings a story from one of the 18 Mahabharata storybooks, namely Wirataparwa. Wirataparwa itself is the story of the Book of Wanaparwa containing the main story of how the Pandavas lived life in the forest for 12 years. The book also tells the story of Arjuna who was permitted on the Himalayas to obtain a powerful weapon of pasupati from Lord Shiva. The story became the subject of Kakawin Arjunawiwaha's story in Indonesian literature.
